Ground Source Heat Pump:- Polzeath

Carnon Contracting have been awarded the contract to drill two Ground Source Heat Pump Boreholes for a new ecohome at Polzeath in Cornwall.

The design for the project is being provided by Capture Energy and the main Contractor is Ginn Construction.

The heat pumps are being supplied by Kensa Engineering of Truro in Cornwall.

Camborne Link Road Site Investigation

Carnon contracting are currently drilling site investigation boreholes in Pool, Cornwall for Cornwall County Council in respect of the possibility of mine workings along the route of the proposed new link road.

Design is being provided by Carillion and Cornwall County Council.

The Principle Contractors are Carnon Contracting.

Polzeath Cornwall:- Soil Nailing, Shotcreting and Ground Anchoring

Carnon Contracting have recently completed a scheme to stabilise the face of an excavation for a new Ecohouse in Polzeath in Cornwall.

The rocks comprised the installation of Soil Nails and Rock Anchors and the construction of a reinforced sprayed concrete beam.

The Engineering Solution was designed by South West Geotechnical

Ground Source Heat Boreholes, Mullion, Cornwall

Carnon Contracting have completed drilling boreholes for Ground Source Heat Pumps in Mullion in Cornwall.

A total of 12 no. 100m boreholes were drilled for Aquasource and ROK.

The loops and Grout were supplied by Geothermal Supplies.

Carnon also undertook to install the horizontal pipework from the boreholes to the heatpump locations.

Emergency Shotcreting and Bolting Works on the Camel Trail

Carnon Contracting have been contracted to undertake emergency Shotcreting and Bolting works to stabilise a section of former Railway cutting on the Camel Trail, Nr Wadebridge in Cornwall.

Piling and Anchoring in Gunnislake

Carnon Contracting are currently undertaking a piling and rock anchoring project in Gunnislake in Cornwall for RYEARCH Specialist Contractors.

The works are complicated by the proximity of unstable mine workings in the area.

Ground Anchor/ Soil Nailing Contract Completed

Carnon Contracting have completed a Ground Anchor/ Soil Nailing contract in Cornwall.

It comprised the installation of Stainless UK Grip bar anchors/Soild Nails and piles to remediate a failed retaining wall in Falmouth.

The site had access issues and the drilling was undertaken from scaffolding.

Rock Anchoring and Piling Contract Awarded at Gunnislake, Cornwall

Carnon Contracting have been awarded a contract to install Minipiles and rock anchors to stabilise a mining feature in a car park at Gunnislake, Cornwall.

The main contractor was Ryearch Ltd .

The Scheme was designed by the John Grimes Partnership.

Newquay Airport Site Investigation

Carnon Contracting and Crofty Consultancy have jointly completed an Environmental drilling project at Newquay Airport in Cornwall UK.

The works included the installation of sampling holes for the monitoring of groundwater.

The works were completed in January 2008.

Carnon Contracting have drilled and installed seven Ground Source Heat Pump Boreholes at a site in Somerset.The works included the installation of the ground loops and the grouting of the system with Thermally Conductive Grout supplied by Geothermal Supplies.

The works were completed on schedule to the clents satisfaction.
